Enercon has announced a repositioning of its business, with a stronger focus on wind turbines and integrated solutions for hybrid power plants. The company’s current product portfolio is centred on the E-175 EP5, its latest large onshore turbine, alongside a range of modular services and solutions that can be combined to support green energy projects.

CEO Udo Bauer said the company aims to move beyond its role as a turbine supplier and service provider to support customers with connected solutions for power generation, storage and grid integration. Partnerships and collaborations are intended to play a key role in this broader approach.

The company points to increasingly complex market conditions as a driver of this shift. With many countries moving away from fixed feed-in tariffs, renewable electricity is now traded on the open market. This requires operators to maximise profitability while meeting stricter requirements for grid stability, cost efficiency and constant energy supply.

Enercon’s offerings are organised into three areas: end-to-end project engineering, connected operation, and operational optimisation. These include planning and delivery of hybrid projects combining wind farms, battery storage and grid connection, as well as digital tools for monitoring, maintenance and cybersecurity.

The company also supports long-term project optimisation through performance upgrades, such as yield- or load-based operating modes and reduced-noise operation. The E-175 EP5 remains the centrepiece of Enercon’s portfolio, designed for high yield and flexibility in hybrid energy projects.
