Jan De Nul to install export cables for Formosa 4 wind farm

Jan De Nul has signed a contract with Synera Renewable Energy (SRE) for the installation of export cables at the Formosa 4 offshore wind farm in Taiwan. The company will transport, install, and protect around 60 kilometres of subsea high-voltage alternating current (HVAC) cables to bring electricity ashore.
Rystad Energy: China to dominate offshore wind as US faces setbacks

As the USA seeks to reduce dependence on Chinese supply chains by increasing domestic oil and gas production, its offshore wind industry continues to face economic headwinds, including project delays, reduced tax incentives, and rising costs. According to Rystad Energy, new global offshore wind capacity is expected to reach 16 GW by the end of 2025, with around two thirds of that total being developed in China. By 2030, China’s offshore wind sector is forecast to represent 45% of global cumulative capacity, leaving the USA struggling to keep pace even if policies shift.
Minnesota regulators approve Allete partnership with CPP Investments and GIP

The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission has approved the acquisition of Allete by Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) and Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP). With all regulatory approvals now in place, the transaction is expected to close in late 2025 following the commission’s written order.
Lloyd’s Register grants approval to Samsung’s SnapWind Float design

Lloyd’s Register (LR) has granted Approval in Principle (AiP) to Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) for its new floating offshore wind turbine design, SnapWind Float. The SnapWind Float has been developed to enable floating wind projects in deeper waters and is optimised for use in regions with limited access to skilled labour, heavy lifting equipment, or large assembly areas.
Palfinger Marine supplies nacelle cranes for Vestas 15 MW turbines

Palfinger Marine has been selected to supply nacelle cranes for Vestas’ 15 MW wind turbines. Following a joint development, prototyping, and testing phase, serial deliveries of the cranes have now started.
Ørsted completes rights issue

Nordex reports 2.2 GW order intake in third quarter

In the third quarter of 2025, Nordex recorded orders totalling 2,170 MW in the Projects segment, excluding service business. This represents an increase of around 26% compared with the same period in 2024 (1,726 MW). For the first nine months of 2025, total order intake reached 6,661 MW, up from 5,083 MW in the previous year.
Bureau Veritas certifies Provence Grand Large floating offshore wind project

Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore has certified the Provence Grand Large floating offshore wind project, developed and owned by EDF, Enbridge, and CPP Investments. Located off the coast of Fos-sur-Mer, the project consists of three turbines, each with a capacity of 8 MW. EDF led the development, Siemens Gamesa supplied the turbines and towers, and SBM Offshore and IFPEN collaborated on the floating foundation design. Eiffage Métal was responsible for fabrication, and Prysmian provided the project’s dynamic cables.
Deutsche Windtechnik strengthens offshore management team

Deutsche Windtechnik expanded the management team of its offshore unit on 1 October 2025, appointing Achim Berge Olsen as Chief Executive Officer.
