India’s Akvotransiro trials vessel made from discarded wind turbine blades

Akvotransiro Tech, a startup based in Guwahati, India, has trialled a patent-pending catamaran built entirely from end-of-life (EOL) wind turbine blades. The initiative addresses the growing challenge of blade waste, with more than 43 million metric tons expected globally by 2050 and India projected to generate 25,000–30,000 tons annually by 2030.
USA launches national security investigation into wind turbine imports

The US Department of Commerce has begun a national security investigation into imports of wind turbines and their components. The inquiry was initiated on 13 August 2025 under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962.
Ørsted’s Revolution Wind receives stop-work order from BOEM

On 22 August 2025, Ørsted’s subsidiary Revolution Wind, a 50/50 joint venture with Global Infrastructure Partner’s Skyborn Renewables, received an order from the US Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) to halt activities on the outer continental shelf for the Revolution Wind project. The company is complying with the directive and has suspended offshore operations while prioritising worker and environmental safety.
Clarksons strengthens offshore renewables presence in Asia-Pacific

Clarksons has appointed Rouven Willner as Head of Offshore Renewables in Singapore. Willner joined the company in 2018 as an offshore broker in Hamburg and has more than 12 years of experience in the offshore wind industry.
Hanwha Ocean and Hyundai E&C to advance Shinan Ui offshore wind project

Hanwha Ocean and Hyundai Engineering & Construction have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in offshore wind. Hanwha Ocean took over Hanwha Corporation’s wind power business in December 2024 and now holds permits for offshore projects with a combined capacity of 2 GW, including the Shinan Ui project.
Boskalis awarded cable installation contracts for Baltica 2 offshore wind farm

Boskalis has secured two contracts for the transportation and installation of export and array cables at the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm in Poland. The contracts were awarded by the joint venture of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna and Ørsted, developers of the project.
East Anglia Three offshore converter station foundation installed in North Sea

The steel structure that will support ScottishPower Renewables’ high-voltage direct current (HVDC) offshore converter station has been installed in the southern North Sea. The four-legged jacket foundation, weighing about 3,700 tonnes and standing 59 metres high, is now fixed to the seabed 69 kilometres off the Suffolk coast at a water depth of 36 metres.
Ørsted trials cargo drones at offshore wind farms

Ørsted, together with its UK-based drone partner Skylift, is using FlyingBasket cargo drones to deliver safety evacuation equipment to turbines. Each drone can transport boxes weighing up to 70kg from a vessel to the nacelle, more than 100 metres above sea level.
Cadeler signs contract with Synera Renewable Energy for Formosa 4 offshore wind farm

Cadeler has signed a firm contract with Synera Renewable Energy (SRE) for the transportation and installation of 35 Siemens Gamesa 14MW wind turbines at the Formosa 4 Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan. The work will be carried out by one of Cadeler’s new M-class installation vessels.
