DNV contracted by Kolon Global for Wando Jangbogo offshore wind project

Hexicon reports improved operating result in Q2 2025

Hexicon has published its interim report for the second quarter of 2025. During the quarter, Hexicon completed the sale of its Italian offshore wind projects Sicily South and Sardinia Northwest to Ingka Investments and Oxan Energy. On 7 May, the company held its Annual General Meeting, at which Bjarne Borg, Mia Batljan, Mats Jansson, Lars Martinsson, and Göran Öfverström were re-elected to the Board of Directors, with Bjarne Borg confirmed as Chairman.
Gurit focuses on wind sector restructuring and profitability

Gurit reported first-half 2025 net sales of CHF 164.7 million, with Wind Materials accounting for CHF 105 million. Wind sales declined by 22.9% at constant exchange rates compared with the same period in 2024, mainly due to the planned exit from the carbon fibre pultrusion business.
Flender to acquire Wärtsilä wind and industrial gearbox service business in Brazil

Flender has signed an agreement with the Finnish technology group Wärtsilä to acquire the wind and industrial gearbox service business of Wärtsilä Brasil. To facilitate the transaction, Flender has established Flender Brasil as a subsidiary that will receive the assets once closing is completed, subject to approval by the Administrative Council for Economic Defence (CADE), the Brazilian antitrust authority.

US Treasury tightens rules for wind and solar tax credits

The US Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) have issued new guidance narrowing eligibility for federal tax credits for wind and solar projects in the USA. The rules eliminate the “5 percent safe harbour” for large projects, which had allowed developers to qualify by making upfront equipment purchases.
New Jersey delays offshore wind transmission projects

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) has ordered Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) to delay by two-and-a-half years its State Agreement Approach (SAA) transmission projects, pushing the final in-service date from June 2030 to January 2033.
