E.ON connects two millionth renewable energy plant to distribution grid in Germany

E.ON has connected the two millionth renewable energy installation to its distribution network in Germany. The connection was made at Ahlum, between Braunschweig and Wolfenbüttel, and relates to a wind farm operated by SAB Windteam in the regional network area of E.ON subsidiary Avacon.Around 70% of the capacity of all onshore wind farms and nearly 50% of all photovoltaic installations in Germany are connected to E.ON’s regional distribution grid.

GE Vernova to supply 17 turbines for 100 MW Fortore wind farm in Italy

GE Vernova has been selected by IVPC Group to supply 17 units of its 6.1 MW, 158-metre onshore wind turbines for the Fortore wind farm in Benevento, Italy. The project, with a total capacity of over 100 MW, was among the largest awarded in an auction held by Italy’s energy agency, Gestore dei Servizi Energetici, in December 2025.
Kitakyushu Hibikinada offshore wind farm begins commercial operation in Japan

The Kitakyushu Hibikinada offshore wind farm, also known as Wind KitaQ 25, has commenced commercial operation on 2 March 2026. The project was awarded to Hibiki Wind Energy in February 2017 following a public tender by Kitakyushu City for offshore wind farm installation and operation in the Hibikinada area. Construction began in March 2023.
