PGE Group and Ørsted signed an agreement with GE Vernova, represented in Poland by GE Power and Polimex Mostostal, the consortium which will construct the onshore infrastructure necessary for exporting power from Baltica 2 Offshore Wind Farm.
The onshore connection infrastructure for Baltica 2 will be built in the Pomerania region of Poland, in vicinity of Osieki Lęborskie, in the Choczewo commune, in the Wejherowo district. The consortium will implement the contract in the Engineering, Procurement and Construction mode. The task comprises developing of the 275/400 kV high-voltage transformer substation and onshore export cable lines necessary for transmit the power to the Polish Power System. The first construction works are planned to start in 2024, while testing and putting the connection infrastructure online is scheduled for 2026 and 2027. Baltica 2 is one of two stages of the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm, next to Baltica 3. PGE and Ørsted plan to deliver Baltica 2 of 1.5 GW capacity by the end of 2027 and Baltica 3 of 1 GW capacity by 2030. The project is subject to final investment decision. Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 will create the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm of 2,5 GW total capacity.
