Skyborn Renewables has finalised contracts for all major construction packages of the Gennaker offshore wind farm. The signing of Preferred Supply Agreements (PSAs) in the summer of 2025 moves the project forward towards its planned commissioning in 2028.

Monopile foundations: EEW Special Pipe Construction will supply 63 monopile foundations, each up to 54.1 metres long, with a top diameter of 7.5 metres and a maximum weight of 877 tonnes. Manufacturing will take place in Rostock, around 40 kilometres from the site.

Transition pieces: Dajin Heavy Industry will provide 63 transition pieces, each about 20 metres high and weighing around 400 tonnes. Fabrication will be carried out in Penglai, China, and finalised in Odense, Denmark.

Foundation transportation and installation: Seaway7 will handle the transport and installation of monopiles and transition pieces.
Inter-array cables: A consortium of Boskalis and TKF will deliver and install approximately 140 kilometres of inter-array cables, to be manufactured in Eemshaven, Netherlands.

These agreements follow earlier contracts for turbine supply and long-term service with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, and for turbine installation with Fred. Olsen Windcarrier.

With a planned capacity of 976.5 MW, the Gennaker site lies about 15 kilometres north of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula, within a designated offshore wind zone in the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern coastal area. Skyborn secured the building permit in May 2019 and holds exclusive development rights for the project.
