Nova Scotia premier Tim Houston and Massachusetts governor Maura Healey have signed an agreement to work towards supplying Massachusetts with offshore wind energy from projects off Nova Scotia. The memorandum of understanding sets out cooperation on offshore wind development, regional infrastructure and supply chain activity.
Nordex secures 220 MW wind turbine orders across UK, Türkiye and Lithuania

Nordex has recorded multiple onshore wind turbine orders across Europe in January 2026, covering projects in the UK, Türkiye and Lithuania. The contracts include supply, installation and multi-year service and maintenance agreements. The customers and the wind farms are not disclosed.

Ørsted’s board of directors has approved the company’s annual report for 2025, outlining progress on strategic priorities including offshore wind development, capital structure improvements and organisational changes. The company reported continued advancement across its offshore wind construction portfolio and confirmed ongoing adjustments to its project pipeline and operations. Operationally, offshore wind generation increased by 6% compared with 2024 despite lower wind speeds, supported by higher availability rates and the ramp-up of generation at Gode Wind 3 in Germany.

Vestas wins wind turbine order in New Zealand

GE Vernova to repower 1.1 GW onshore wind fleet in USA

GE Vernova’s onshore wind business has received orders in 2025 to repower 1.1 GW of onshore wind turbines in the USA. The projects will use nacelles and drive trains manufactured at the company’s facility in Pensacola, Florida.
SMST to supply equipment for Marco Polo Marine's first CSOV Plus

Q Energy to develop France wind farm using fully refurbished turbines

Q Energy has started dismantling the Plomodiern wind farm in Finistère, with the turbines set to be completely overhauled and redeployed at a new site in 2028. Renvo, a company specialising in the reuse and repurposing of wind turbines, has selected machines suitable for refurbishment for the future location. Coverwind is handling the dismantling of the Plomodiern turbines, which are managed by Energiter.
Spain opens design phase for floating offshore wind auction

The Spanish Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge has launched a public consultation to guide the design of the country’s first competitive auction for floating offshore wind. Companies, industry associations and public authorities can submit feedback until 24 February. The consultation will guide the final design of the auction mechanism.
Fugro begins integrated site investigations for SSEN Transmission’s Western Isles power transmission link

Fugro has started nearshore surveys for the Western Isles High Voltage Direct Current link developed by SSEN Transmission. The project will enable the transfer of 1,800 MW of renewable energy from Scotland’s islands to the UK mainland. The work will deliver Geo-data to support the design and construction of cable landfalls, helping reduce risk and inform route planning.
