Buchan Offshore Wind, a 1GW floating offshore wind project located 75km northeast of Fraserburgh, has completed its metocean and LiDAR (light detection and ranging) surveys. Survey company Partrac recently recovered the project’s LiDAR and seabed instrumentation.

Iberdrola has inaugurated its operation and maintenance (O&M) centre in Saint-Brieuc, where 80 employees will be based. Located in Binic-Étables-sur-Mer, the centre manages electricity production and maintenance of the wind farm 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Cadeler has secured two contracts with undisclosed clients for its new wind installation vessel, Wind Mover. Currently under construction at Hanwha Ocean Shipyard in Korea, the vessel will support operations and maintenance (O&M) activities and potential installation work in Europe.

Shell has decided to exit the Atlantic Shores wind project off the coast of New Jersey, writing off nearly $1 billion. The company cited concerns over financial returns and strategic fit.

Vattenfall and BASF have awarded four major contracts for the Nordlicht 1 and 2 offshore wind farms, located 85 kilometres north of the island of Borkum in the German North Sea. The contracts have been awarded to EEW Special Pipe Constructions (SPC), CS Wind Offshore, Deme, and Jan De Nul.

North Star has officially named and handed over its latest service operations vessel (SOV), Grampian Tweed, completing its fleet of dedicated ships serving Dogger Bank Wind Farm on a long-term charter. Grampian Tweed is the fourth SOV introduced to support Dogger Bank Wind Farm.
