Subsea7 has announced that John Evans will retire as Chief Executive Officer on 30 June 2026. He will be succeeded by Stuart Fitzgerald with effect from 1 July 2026. Fitzgerald is currently Chief Executive Officer of Seaway7, part of the Subsea7 Group. The Board will propose Evans for appointment as a Director of the company at the Annual General Meeting on 12 May 2026.
Afry appointed Owner’s Engineer for 99 MW Upperchurch wind farm in County Tipperary, Ireland

Afry has been appointed Owner’s Engineer by Irish renewable energy developer Ecopower for the Upperchurch wind farm in County Tipperary, Ireland. Afry will act as project manager during construction of the 22-turbine project, which will have a combined installed capacity of 99 MW and a maximum export capacity of 84 MW.
Vattenfall begins construction of hybrid wind and solar park in Germany

Vattenfall has started construction of the Hommerdingen-Biesdorf hybrid power plant in south-west Germany. The project combines four Enercon wind turbines with a total capacity of 17 MW and more than 12,000 solar modules with a capacity of 7.6 MWp.
Ocean Winds signs Agreement for Lease with The Crown Estate for 1.5 GW Celtic Sea site

Ocean Winds has signed an Agreement for Lease with The Crown Estate for a floating offshore wind site in the Celtic Sea. The site is the third awarded under Round 5 of the UK seabed leasing process, following Ocean Winds’ selection as a preferred bidder in November 2025.
Vestas completes installation of 242 turbines at SunZia wind project in USA

All 242 wind turbines have been installed at the SunZia Wind project in the USA, one year after the start of project delivery. SunZia Wind and Transmission is being developed by Pattern Energy and is currently the largest onshore wind project in the USA for which Vestas has supplied turbines.
M/V Gripper completes two years of service in the USA offshore wind sector

American Offshore Services has reported that the crew transfer vessel M/V Gripper completed two years of continuous service in the USA offshore wind sector on 1 March 2026. Since entering service, the vessel has supported crew and equipment transfers along the USA East Coast.
Nordex receives order from Qualitas Energy in Germany

Nordex has received an order for 56 MW from Qualitas Energy Deutschland, part of Qualitas Energy, for the Wippershainer Höhe wind farm in Germany. The contract covers the supply and installation of eight N163/6.X turbines mounted on 164-metre hybrid towers. It also includes a 20-year service agreement.
Bibby Marine analysis outlines cost reductions from electrified CSOVs

Bibby Marine has published analysis examining the potential cost implications of electrifying Commissioning Service Operation Vessels used in the offshore wind sector. According to the company, hybrid electric CSOVs could reduce operating costs by up to 40 per cent compared with conventionally fuelled vessels from the start of operations. When operated in fully electric mode with offshore charging available, cost reductions of up to 70 per cent are projected.
Haskoning to deliver design phase for ELWIND offshore wind farms in Estonia and Latvia
