Hitachi Energy has introduced AxoniQ, a portfolio of solutions designed for multi-terminal direct current (MTDC) systems. The technology is intended to support evolving power systems as renewable energy capacity increases and grids become more interconnected. MTDC systems are used to help manage congestion and enable power flow between multiple terminals and across different energy markets. By linking several generation and demand points, they allow electricity to be routed to where it is required.

Dieseko Group has introduced OPUS, a new Offshore Pile Upending System designed for high-volume offshore pile installation campaigns. The patented system combines pile storage, transfer, upending and vibro-driven installation into a single operational sequence. According to Dieseko, the concept enables pile installation from more widely available offshore support vessels, including platform supply vessels (PSVs) and anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels.

GustoMSC, NOV's offshore design and engineering business, has introduced a new asymmetrical rack and pinion (ASYM R&P) technology designed to support the installation of larger offshore wind turbines. The patent-pending technology has been developed to address increasing demands on installation vessels for higher load capacity, improved efficiency and shorter project schedules, without increasing vessel size, weight or system complexity.
