Eversource Energy has announced the finalisation of definitive documents for its previously announced agreement to sell its 50 percent ownership stake in the 924MW Sunrise Wind project to Ørsted.
Despite the sale, Eversource will continue its involvement through a separate construction management agreement, leading the onshore construction of the Sunrise Wind project. In this capacity, Eversource will serve as a service provider to Ørsted, without retaining any ongoing ownership interest or financial obligations associated with project costs. The transaction is expected to close later this year, subject to certain conditions, including the execution of a contract with NYSERDA and customary regulatory approvals.
