The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced the six final winners of the Wind Turbine Materials Recycling Prize. Each team was awarded $500,000 in cash prizes, as well as $100,000 in vouchers to work with DOE national laboratories, for creating cost-effective recycling technologies that will increase the sustainability of U.S. wind energy systems.

The German Federal Network Agency has announced the results of the tender for onshore wind turbines as of 1 August 2024. With a tendered amount of 2,709 MW, 239 bids totaling 2,961 MW were submitted.

The Department of the Interior has announced it will hold an offshore wind energy lease sale on 29 October 2024 for eight areas on the Outer Continental Shelf off Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. If fully developed, these areas have a potential capacity of approximately 13 GW of clean offshore wind energy.
