Van Oord recorded strong results in 2025, driven by its offshore energy and renewable infrastructure activities. Fleet investments in 2025 included Boreas, the company’s latest offshore wind installation vessel, as well as two new flexible fallpipe vessels, the first of which is expected to enter service in 2028. These additions strengthen Van Oord’s capabilities in offshore wind installation, subsea rock placement, and climate adaptation projects.

Mark Offshore has reached an agreement with Klaipėda University to operate the research vessel r/v Mintis. Under the agreement, Klaipėda University has appointed Mark Offshore as commercial and operational manager for activities in the renewables and energy sectors. Originally designed as a scientific research vessel, r/v Mintis combines research capabilities with offshore functionality, providing a platform suitable for both survey and subsea support work.

Three north-east Scotland energy businesses have united under a new brand, Maraen, to strengthen capabilities in offshore wind and wider energy infrastructure. The new entity brings together Port of Nigg, Global Energy and Global Energy Services into an integrated energy infrastructure provider. The rebranding follows the acquisition of the businesses in 2025 by Mitsui & Co. Europe and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines.

Deme Offshore has officially named its new offshore wind turbine installation vessel, Norse Wind. Equipped with a 3,200-ton crane, the vessel is designed to transport and install next-generation wind turbines and XXL monopiles in water depths of up to 70 metres. It can carry either four 20 MW turbines or six 15 MW turbines.
